Mirus Aircraft Seating has been working away, at it seems they’re working on its Hawk seat, with it now available for more aircraft types.

The Hawk seat will be available for both Boeing 737 and A320 family aircraft and is certified for multiple aisle widths, providing greater choice for airline customers.
What is the Hawk?
The Hawk is an ergonomically sculptured seat, designed to offer maximum legroom and tailored comfort options to enhance and optimize the passenger experience. It features the Mirus mechanical recline system, extending tray table and choice of lower literature pockets. The seat can be customised with a range of sustainable seat cover materials, USB charging points and a built-in Personal Electronic Device holder.
The Hawk is a slimline and low-weight seat, thus allowing airlines to reduce costs in fuel for those using older seats.
In addition, the seat is made primarily of recyclable materials. Mirus puts sustainability at the forefront of new seat design and manufacture, recognising that its customers and passengers alike are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of air travel.

Ben McGuire, CEO of Mirus Aircraft Seating said
“Our next generation of the Hawk seat will double our market range as we’ve tailored the design to make it available for the Boeing 737 family, to serve alongside the existing Airbus A320 family offering. We are attracting commercial airline clients seeking a dynamic mix of light weight, stylish design, and modern in-seat features whilst also being sustainable.
“Our seats come with the Mirus Care Extended Warranty, which can be secured for a low annual fee; typically, this means that our customers can expect to have their investment returned within 5 years of purchase, which is around half the standard lifetime of the seat. There is no other warranty programme like this in the aircraft seating space, and we are immensely proud to offer such a service.”
Expanding its customer base
Mirus launched with a major customer – AirAsia taking the Hawk seat initially. It has also attracted orders from TUI and Airbus too. By adding the Boeing 737 families, Mirus Aircraft Seating should be able to grow out the support for their seats to a lot of airlines that have got Boeing fleets.
To support their growth, Mirus is building out a crash-test facility to support seat development both for the aviation and automotive testing industry.
Economy Class and Beyond has been keeping an eye on Mirus since they came onto the scene in 2016 and launched their Hawk seat for Air Asia.
We noted at the time the seat was spacious for an economy class seat, with AirAsia choosing it due to the low cost of maintenance with 40% fewer parts than previous seats.
It’ll be interesting how they grow further.
