SNAPSHOT: Crowne Plaza O’Hare (One-Bed Suite)

24/03/2022 by Kevincm

Time for another snapshot, this time focusing on the Crowne Plaza O’Hare.

In case you’ve forgotten how we do travel write-ups on Economy class and Beyond, I have two major travel writing styles:

  • Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience and the small things… as well as the big things!
  • Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the basic product in some nice gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone).

Today, we’re on the Snapshot. The full in-depth review is very near completion.

Location

The property is in Rosemont, off North River Road. It is served by A limited hotel shuttle or your choice of rideshare apps. for those who fancy an adventure, it is walkable from Rosemont CTA Blue Line station.

Check-In

Checkin was delayed slightly due to a queue. But eventually, I was processed. It was confirmed I was on an award stay. The hotel also upgraded me from a one-bedroom to a one-bedroom suite.

An IHG Welcome amenity of 600 points was offered – there was no drink option at this hotel.

The Room

Well, this is unusual, a suite – and on the 6th floor. This is a three-room suite, split into a living area, a bedroom and a shower.

I haven’t had this much space to play in for years.

Although what is this hot mess…

Amenities

There was a fridge hidden, as we as a Keruig machine for coffee and tea.

The bed

It was large, with the usual sheets requiring half an hour of loosening. The mattress was firm enough so it was relaxing, rather than swallowed and consumed by it.

The Bathroom

A large bathroom was offered with the room, with both a separate shower and bathtub

Other amenities used at the hotel

The shuttle bus was used to get from O’Hare to the hotel. It was interesting to note the times and availability of the shuttle had shrunk to a limited hourly service.

Check-out

Check out was a simple process, with me confirming the room number and that no further charges were on the room.

The full review of the Crowne Plaza O’Hare will be coming soon!
