Manchester Airport Terminal 3 set to reopen on the 22nd April

20/04/2022 by Kevincm

Manchester Airport has been in the news a lot, with the issues it’s had processing people through security, with passengers missing flights. Well, whilst they are still trying to employ more people to help, there is a little bit of relief as Terminal 3 is set to fully reopen.

The following airlines will move back “home” to Terminal

  • Aurigny
  • British Airways
  • Eastern Airways
  • Iberia Expres
  • Loganair
  • Ryanair
  • Vueling

If you’re travelling from the 22nd of April, you should head to Terminal 3 in the first instance – for both check-in and arrivals.

The terminal will open up its shops and catering outlets too, both before and after security.

Now, the begging part

With the queues that Manchester airport has been experiencing recently, the airline is asking that passengers arrive three hours before their flight.

Passengers should also refamiliarise themselves with the security rules. This includes having large electronic items out and ensuring all liquids, gels and pastes are under 100ml and in a clear re-sealable bag.

And of course, check if you’re allowed to travel and what restrictions are in place.

More capacity – but pinch points will remain

With Terminal 3 fully reopening, it will provide some relief and more room for passenger circulation in the airport – and that’s to be welcomed.

However, all those security and inspection points need to have human beings at them, as well as to staff the rest of the terminal’s facilities to make it work.

With the human power that the airport has been lacking recently, that could be the bigger challenge for the airport.

It goes without saying – plan to arrive early.
