Eurowings has been busy, with them working with Geven for a retrofit programme of the seats aboard their feet.
The Esszena seat is no stranger to the Lufthansa group, with the seat being widely deployed as part of a line-fit programme which began in 2017.
The Essenza model for Eurowings features an exclusive design scheme and dedicated Eurowings trim and finish, delivering comfort in the cabin, whilst maintaining cost-efficiency. It features in-arm and rear meal tables with an all-device accommodating dedicated holder, coat hook, as well as customised literature and amenity pockets as well a life vest pouch.
Essenza carries super comfort bottom cushions, completed for the Eurowings fleet, dressed in light and dark grey, finished with a personalised accent of violet-red on the backrest for the dress covers.

Alberto Veneruso, Managing Director of Geven, on the installation and delivery said:
“We are delighted at the success of our cooperation with the LH Group and proud of the satisfaction with the product they have expressed,
We are especially proud of the punctuality with which the stringent Eurowings delivery schedule is being met – 23 ship sets, all at a rhythm of two per week between April and July of this year. Geven has a record of 100% on-time delivery, which we mean to keep unblemished.
The teamwork on both the linefit and this Eurowings retrofit program was fruitful and synchronized in such a way as to meet with maximum precision the needs and expectations of this exacting customer.
There is sound confidence that the product delivered to Eurowings is one of high customisation and one which will offer the long-term service performance such a customer commands, continues Veneruso.
We at Geven, and we believe, our many satisfied customers, are convinced that Essenza is the best solution for on-board comfort thanks to its outstanding living space and careful ergonomic design, which combined with the lightweight, long service life reliability and overall low cost of ownership, will surely add value to the already prestigious Eurowings brand.
Further wins for Esszena
Essenza has done well since its launch, with it being featured both on budget and premium operators. For the Lufthansa Group, selecting one seat brings various benefits – not least lower costs from having one type of seat in service.
In theory, if a Eurowings aircraft needs to be reassigned in the group (eg SWISS), rather than worrying about seating configurations, all that would be needed would be seat cover dressing, as well as any exterior work that needed doing – thus minimising the downtime of the aircraft.
Low-weight seats also have a reduced impact on fuel – with the Essenza coming in at just under 8kg per seat (24kg per triplet) – something that will be welcome in these times.
