Indigo has been busy, selecting Recaro Aircraft Seating’s BL3710 for its upcoming Airbus A320neo and Airbus A321neo fleets.
The BL3710 economy class seat will be installed on 75 Airbus aircraft starting from January 2023. It will make the launch of the economy class seat in then the Indian sub-continent.
Recaro’s BL3710 offers recline as well as power and various seat-back option. Indigo has selected a low net-back document pocket and tray table configuration.
It comes in at under 10kg per seat, allowing for economical operation on the short to mid-haul lengths that the A320neo and A321neo can fly.

Comfort in the sky
I’ve tried the BL3710 a few times at trade shows and I’ve been impressed at the comfort the seat offers at this 10kg weight (which), is appreciated.
Depending on the pitch, of course, will depend on the final comfort level. Indigo has gone for a very “base” configuration in this layout (as is typical for a low-cost carrier). Whilst it would have been nice to have things like USB outlets in this, I suspect they were out of spec.
But for those passengers with bottoms on seats, it’s a reasonably comfortable ride.
