Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (3/4th December)

03/12/2022 by Kevincm

It’s that time of the week again when I spent time sleeping instead of editing this blog.

Welcome to Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

Trip Report: Fall Fun in the Windy City

And amazingly, I’ve made it to the end of this trip report – here are the last three segments from the trip report.

  • BA296 Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow (World Traveller)
  • A Coach, A Coach. My Kingdom for a Coach
  • Not quite the end for 2022…

Loyalty

  • Iberia’s new revenue-based Avios earning scheme goes live… and it is a HOT MESS – Well, I’m not wrong. By making exceptions and what counts (or not), it’s more of a hot mess than I am.

New Aircraft News

  • Croatia Airlines signs for Airbus A220 aircraft – Six to buy, the rest to lease
  • Korean Air adds its first Airbus A321neo to its fleet – The first of 30 for the Korean flag carrier

easyJet network news

All the network news this week goes to easyJet. So… a new title.

  • easyJet to expand its Belfast International base
  • easyJet boosts its Manchester base

Trains

  • Grand Union Trains gets the nod to operate London – South West Wales services – Competition on the Great Western Main Line, at last

Technology

  • Rolls Royce and easyJet partner for an engine run using Hydrogen – A step forward in propulsion

Pretty Pictures

  • United Airlines Boeing 767-300ER on final approach to Chicago O’Hare

Next Week

I’ve got something special planned for next week (as my birthday falls towards the end of the week). You’ll have to see where this post is being reported from next week.

Until the end of the week, it’s going to be our usual mixture of news, coverage and whatever else catches my eye.

Until then, Happy Landings!
