The first aircraft passed its customer delivery flight on the 16th of December, with the first aircraft delivered to Frankfurt on the 19th of December.
The aircraft, with the registration D-ANRA, is the first of the 18 long-haul aircraft on order from Airbus that will fly for Condor as part of the fleet renewal.
The first commercial flight is expected to take place this year from Frankfurt to Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. This will be followed in the coming weeks by other destinations such as the Maldives or Punta Cana, which will be the first one.
A total of 18 factory-new A330-900neo aircraft will join the Condor fleet by 2024. They will replace the current long-haul fleet, consisting of Boeing 767s, which are gradually being replaced by the much more efficient and quieter Airbus models.
The second aircraft is also expected later this year.

Ralf Teckentrup, CEO Condor said:
“Today is a significant one for Condor and its future. The arrival of our first A330neo in Frankfurt marks the beginning of a new era for Condor,” said
“The 2-liter aircraft’s fuel consumption is well below the industry average and reduces CO2 emissions by 20 percent on the same routes. This, together with state-of-the-art technologies and the highest level of comfort, is leading the way into the future and towards one of the greenest fleets in Europe.”

The A330neo upgrade for Condor will bring a three-class cabin to the fore, along with a more spacious feel thanks to the Airspace cabin. They will be supported with the latest generation of in-flight entertainment and first-time, onboard connectivity, along with amenities such as larger overhead bins.
Each one will be able to hold up to 310 passengers, featuring 30 seats in Business, 64 seats in Premium Economy and 216 seats in Economy class.
It will give the airline a chance to introduce a consistent long-haul fleet (with there currently two variants of the 767 with different seat layouts) as well as bring an up-to-date passenger experience onboard.
Condor’s A330neo looks to be an exciting upgrade for its passengers.
