MYAirline, Malaysia’s new low-cost airline has partnered with Geven, to bring its new SuperEco seat to its aircraft.
The SuperEco seat will be fitted to all of MYAirline’s A320 fleet, with aircraft seats manufactured in Italy.
The seats feature a customised ELeather padded dress cover to reduce weight and waste. This is combined with the lightweight design, a low cost of ownership and durable parts to create a comfortable seat for short and medium-haul flights.
Its design features a padded dress cover, self-structural bottom cushion, lower literature pocket and flush armrests, which increases the comfort level for passengers. A Personal Electronic Device holder will also be installed in the meal trays.
MYAirline has selected a pre-reclined seat angle of 109.4 degrees is designed to be ergonomic and provides a more comfortable seating position ensuring there is enough space for all guests and preventing clashes between seats and passengers.
The seats will be pitched mostly at 29″, with the emergency exit row seat pitched is 34″. Meanwhile, whilst aisle and window seats have a width of 18″, the middle seat will gain extra space – with an 18.5″ seat width.

We want our passengers to enjoy their journey and with our seats pre-reclined, one does not need to put their seat upright during take-off or landing. Our carefully selected interior fittings is a testament to our efforts in ensuring operational safety, efficiency and sustainability, while providing comfort. Besides being comfortable, the superEco seats are not only lightweight but easy to maintain. This helps keep our cost structure low.
Alberto Veneruso, Managing Director of Geven, added:
“We are pleased to see our newborn superEco seats reach the APAC skies for the first time with MyAirline. Evolving the SuperEco
Geven has been busy with the SuperEco, marketing it to airlines (such as Wizz Air who will use it in their A321XLR). The move marks the first time it has been deployed outside Europe.
MYAirline has gone for a slightly more comfortable setup for its aircraft – choosing to pitch their seats at 29″ (compared to the 28″ that was presented in 2021).
Whilst MYAirline is in its startup phase (operating three A320 aircraft, with five to come), it has plans to expand beyond domestic destinations in Malaysia.
It seems that both Geven and MYAirline are optimising the SuperEco to deliver some passenger comfort whilst keeping costs low – that should be welcome as the airline continues its expansion.
