Cathay Pacific reopens “The Deck” at Hong Kong, with further lounge plans

06/02/2023 by Kevincm

With traffic increasing through Hong Kong International Airport (as well as the airline’s other outposts), Cathay Pacific is reopening and expanding its lounge facilities.

The Deck rejoins Cathay Pacific lounges at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline is also working towards reopening The Pier, First and The Wing, Business within the coming six months as it continues to add more flights to its schedule. It is located near Gate 6 in Terminal 1.

As it reopens, it will offer local delights such as  Hong Kong fish ball rice-noodle soup, poached Chinese vegetables, and a delicious and nourishing Chinese soup alongside familiar favourites such as the signature Wonton Noodles, Dan Dan Mien and dim sum.

Meanwhile in Tokyo (Narita)

The Cathay Pacific Lounge at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport will be opening at a new home. The lounge has relocated to a new space by Gate 71 that is more than two-times larger than the previous lounge and offers almost double the number of seats, making for a more spacious environment, with a view of the apron.

For those passengers traversing the lounge,  they can forward to traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi, grilled fish, miso soup and curry with rice features alongside a selection of light and healthy salads, cheese and cold cuts.

The lounge will reopen in March.

Bangkok and Manila

Cathay Pacific has also made enhancements to its Bangkok and Manila lounges ahead of their reopening. Both lounges have received a refresh to their inte

r décor, fixtures and furniture.

The Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport lounge will reopen in March, whilst the Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport facility will reopen in April.

Other lounges to reopen too

Cathal Pacific will be reopening other lounges in its network, with lounges at San Francisco International Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport due to reopen in the second and third quarters of 2023.

Cathay Pacific’s website has a list of lounges in its network for those who need dim sum and relaxation before they fly.
