For those seeking more connections between Rome and New York, ITA Airways will be adding a third daily service between the two cities in June.

ITA Airways will offer a total of four flights a day between Italy and New York, with an additional service being run out of Milan Malpensa. These are supported by Delta Air Lines, who operate a further three flights a day from Rome Fiumicino.
The upgrade in capacity is to meet demand, as the airline wishes to strengthen its operation between the two cities.
Focusing on the North American Corridor
North America seems to be a part of how the airline wishes to make money this upcoming summer season, with new routes from Rome Fiumicino to Washington Dulles (from 2 June with five weekly frequencies that will become daily in August) and to San Francisco (from 1st July with three weekly frequencies that will increase to five from
August).
The two new intercontinental destinations will be operated with the Airbus A330 to Washington Dulles and the Airbus A350 to San Francisco.
It’s important to the point that ITA Airways is also launched a new advertising campaign that will be on-air from today until 26th March in the cities of New York – where it will be displayed throughout Manhattan – and Miami to promote its three daily flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport and the daily connection out of Miami International Airport.
Tickets are on sale via ITA Airways’ usual channels (internet, call centre, travel agencies and ticket offices).
A busy summer
Whilst suitors might be jostling for the future of ITA Airways, there is a business of running an airline that still needs to go on.
ITA Airways recently announced its 2023 Summer schedule, with flights to 68 destinations, including 22 Italian Domestic, 36 international and 10 intercontinental.
In addition to the new intercontinental routes in the North American market, Mediterranean destinations are a highlight for the company, with flights to the islands of Italy, Spain, Greece and Croatia.
ITA Airways will operate seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraclion, Corfu and Rhodes; moreover, the destinations of Kefalonia and Split will be served from Rome Fiumicino, allowing onward connections from their transatlantic services.
