Noella Ferns, British Airways’ Head of Sales, Asia Pacific, said:
“Customers travelling from Hong Konglove travelling to the UK and Europe and it’s fantastic that international travellers will be able to visit this vibrant city once again. With these additional flights, we’ll be offering a convenient choice of double daily services between the two financial hubs.
“We’re proud to be the only airline offering a business cabin suite with a privacy door on a direct service between Hong Kong and London. The suite has been designed to offer privacy, comfort and space – a place where we know our customers can enjoy work, rest and play.”
Slowly edging towards normal
With double-daily returning, it seems Britsh Airways has the confidence to put more resources (as well as one of its top-of-the-line aircraft) on the London – Hong Kong route.
As we know, the first steps are to re-establish a route, and then add capacity as demand grows (providing it is profitable).
The airline will be seeking to capitalise on this and have passengers using it for Origin and Destination traffic, as well as connecting traffic across the British Airways network.
We’ll have to see if further uplifts are in the future.

It’s great to see airlines increasing their flights because it helps keep airfares down. EVA just increased its daily flights to and from SFO to 3 Daily from 2. I’m hoping BA will do the same soon.
