Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (15th April)

15/04/2023 by Kevincm

It’s that time of the week again when I try and wrap things together, and package them up whilst consuming a beverage that resembles coffee.

Yes, it’s Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

TRIP REPORT: Back in the Groove

The first of three parts of this trip report has made it into the real world. I’m going to trickle these out three to four at a time, as production is… slow. And by that – I mean very slow.

  • Back in the Groove – To Chicago with British Airways (in Premium Classes)
  • Off to the Land of Milk and Honey. I mean Heathrow Terminal 5
  • British Airways Galleries Lounge (South Lounge Complex)

Routes and Networks

  • SAUDIA to add expand its network operations for the summer season – A busy summer ahead
  • JetBlue talks the Amsterdam game… yet no dates yet – Show me the timetable.
  • Qatar Airways to resume Birmingham (UK) Service – Seven flights a week to Elmdon International
  • Delta Air Lines returns to Gatwick – Next: Find a cabbie that will take you south of the river.
  • Air Canada to add a Vancouver to Dubai service – 15 hours plus in a Dreamliner, anyone?

If you order it, they will come

  • Airbus to expand its A320 Final Assembly Line in China –  A second assembly line in China for the A320 family

Passenger Experience

  • SWISS refreshes and reopens its Non-Schengen Lounge – Something for those at the D Gates. With SWISS tastes.

If you offer it for points, will they come?

  • British Airways to offer “Avios only” flights… eh? – It’s almost as if BA is trying to get people to offload Avois or something.

Sustainability in the Air

  • Neste to power Ryanair out of Amsterdam, with a 40% SAF mixture

Pretty pictures

  • Airplane Art – Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-300 taxiing at London Heathrow

Next Week

We’ll be continuing with the trip report next week, with at least three big segments on the way, as well as buying me time to write a lot more over the coming week.

On top of that, we’ll have our selection of news, views and thoughts as it progresses.

All this, whilst I decide if an IBIS Budget is worth half a grand.

Until then, Happy Landings!
