Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr Akbar Al Baker, said:
“The Qatar Airways’ flights to Casablanca and Marrakesh solidify our commitment to the Moroccan market and meet a strong demand for connectivity to these two beautiful and historic cities. The FIFA World Cup 2022 brought Qatar and Morocco together through football and bolstered our cultural and economic cohesion. Connecting through our Hamad International Airport offers passengers an unparalleled 5-star travel experience to over 160 destinations and continues to grow and expand our network.”
Summer fun to Morroco
It seems that Qatar Airways is trying to capitalise on the route, with the airline adding capacity to the two cities – again, the use of tag-on flights is a useful way to add connectivity, whilst reducing the costs of sending two planes to different destinations that wouldn’t be able to fill one aircraft normally.
For Qatar Airways, it sees there additional capacity to feed into its network, as well as send passengers to new destinations, whilst offering more choice than the current codeshare – even if there is one stop involved.
And again – it provides the thing that passengers demand – choices and options – when travelling.
