Eurowings to add Germany to Dubai services

28/04/2023 by Kevincm

For those of you who want to travel at a slightly lower cost, Eurowings is rolling out services between Germany and Dubai

Lufthansa’s low-cost offshoot will operate from Stuttgart and Berlin to Dubai four times a week.

But for those thinking of wide-body comfort, think again, as the airline will deploy an Airbus A321neo on this route.

From the 1st of November, travelers from Berlin can fly non-stop to Dubai on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This will double at the end of November, with  Mondays and Fridays being offered too

Stuttgart operations will commence on the 29th of October operating Thursdays and Sundays.

Ticketing is open on this route, with lead-in fares starting at €199.99

It’ll be the first dedicated rollout for the Eurowings Airbus A321neo fleet, with the airline receiving five of the type, allowing the airline to fly the longer range routes.

As usual, it will feature the Airspace by Airbus interior, but also be very dense – with a 232-seat layout.

New winter sun destinations also from Hanover and Nuremberg

The Canary Islands and Egypt, which can be reached non-stop with Eurowings from Hanover and Nuremberg from November. Gran Canaria and Hurghada will in be flown from both airports up to three times a week, and the Lower Saxony will also reach Tenerife twice a week with the Lufthansa subsidiary; Fuerteventura is also on the flight plan for the Franks.

Interesting use of an A321neo – but don’t underestimate Emirates

We’ve gone through the economics multiple times on this blog of the Airbus A320 neo family, as airlines continue to push the A321neo into new roles and flights

And it seems that Eurowings is happy to run a route to Dubai, without needing the LR or XLR variants of the A321neo.

It seems that Eurowings is stepping around Emirates, as the airline does not serve Berlin or Stuttgart at this time (be it for a number of reasons).

It’ll be interesting how Emirates chooses to respond to this, and if they pressure for more routes to be operated to Germany.
