Porter Airlines has finalised its services out of Toronto Pearson as it prepares to add further capacity on trunk routes.
The airline brings the new timetable into effect from the 1st of June to flights at what the airline describes as “more desirable times”. It will also offer a greater number of coast-to-coast connecting flight options via Porter’s Toronto-Pearson hub, with new options being created with this new schedule.
The new schedule comes into effect on June 1, adding more desirable flight times that are well-distributed throughout the day. Certain routes will see a further increase in flights by August.
Porter’s planned frequency changes are:
Route | Flight Frequency Daily round-trips by August 2023 |
---|---|
Toronto Pearson – Ottawa | 3 |
Toronto Pearson – Montreal | 4 |
Toronto Pearson – Halifax | 2 |
Toronto Pearson – Vancouver | 5 |
Toronto Pearson – Edmonton | 3 |
Toronto Pearson – Calgary | 3 |
Routes out of Toronto-Pearson are operated using Porter’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. These are configured in a 132-seat configuration, with a two-by-two seating layout. On these routes, the airline offers both PorterReserve – an all-inclusive fare featuring dedicated airport check-in, early boarding, enhanced legroom, two checked bags and the ability to change flights without a fee or the standard PorterClassic fare.
For those needing to be connected in the air, Porter Airlines also offers free in-flight connectivity by ViaSat.

Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Porter Airlines, said:
“Porter is known to provide high-frequency, daily service on its core routes. Consistent with this approach, we’re continuing our planned growth at Toronto Pearson and investing to provide passengers with the travel options they value,”
“Travellers can count on even more flights being added to these markets, as well as entirely new destinations being announced in the coming months. Porter is setting out to elevate the economy travel experience and offering frequent flights is another way that we’re serving the needs of business and leisure travellers.”
Growing the Pearson hub
Given that Embraer has now nine Embraer E195-E2 aircraft in its fleet (complimenting the De Havilland Dash 8 operating primarily out of Toronto Billy Bishop Airport), it seems that the airline is strengthening its existing network, before spreading them far and wide.
Since the Embraer E195-E2 has a maximum range of 2,600nm (4,815km), there are lots of possible destinations, as well as bases for the type to operate, without too much difficulty to spin up a base.
With at least another 41 E195-E2s on the way, it’ll be interesting where they head next, as well as where they choose to base them.
