We might be in the middle of Summer 2023, but it seems Finnair is jumping ahead, with it setting up plans for Summer 2024.
The airline is adding Wroclaw in Poland as a new destination from 2nd April 2024, as well as boosting frequencies out of its Helsinki hub to destinations in Northern, Central Europe and Japan.
In Scandinavia, Finnair is adding frequencies to Tromsø and Trondheim in Norway and bringing back the flights between Helsinki and Bergen that make a stopover in Stockholm, Arlanda.
The airline will operate an additional morning frequency from Helsinki to Arlanda and more frequencies to Billund, Denmark.
In Germany, there will be increased frequencies to Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
For the UK and Ireland markets, Finnair is adding frequencies to Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh.
In Poland, Finnair will increase frequencies to Krakow, reintroduce flights to Gdansk and introduce Wroclaw as a brand-new destination.
Finally, Japan will gain service increases with increased frequencies to both Tokyo Narita and Osaka in Japan.
In Quotes
Ole Orvér, Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair, said:
“We are delighted to introduce Wroclaw as a new destination,”
We believe Wroclaw is not only a welcome addition for business travellers but also an intriguing leisure destination for people looking for a city break in a picturesque setting.”
Building the connections
Whilst the Finnair hub is pivoting how it operates, it still centres on its hub and spoke operation, to support long haul and connecting traffic – and the announcement continues to support that operation.
As such, these flights will be timed to connect to either the US network or Japan – key markets for the airline.
