It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a United Airlines Boeing 757-300 climbing out of Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
United Airlines operates a fleet of 21 Boeing 757-300ER aircraft (the longer version of the Boeing 757 family). The airline operates the Boeing 757-200 (the more normal version), as well as the Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-900, Boeing 737-900ER, Boeing 737-8 and Boeing 737-9 in its single-aisle fleet
55 Boeing 757-300s were built with Condor, Delta Air Lines, Icelandair, Skyline Express Airline and United Airlines operating the type.
This aircraft – N77867 – was delivered initially to American Trans Air (ATA Airlines) in April 2002. After ATA collapsed, the aircraft was picked up by Continental Airlines in January 2006, where it was re-registered in February 2006. It was folded into the United Airlines fleet in March 2011 after Continental Airlines and United Airlines merged.
It has been operating over the United Airlines network on trunk routes, basing itself out of Chicago O’Hare and Denver. It has recently been to San Francisco, Orlando, Los Angeles, Anchorage, Houston, Honolulu and Long Beach.
More Airplane Art next week!
