The new route will operate daily service between Tokyo-Haneda and Hamad International (Doha), Qatar starting in the Summer of 2024.
This route will be the first direct flight to the Middle East operated by a Japanese airline. It will use a Boeing 787-9 to support the operations.
There is connectivity too, with the route offering Japan Airlines passengers to seamlessly connect to Africa and South America through its partnership with Qatar Airways at its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Japan Airlines will announce the schedule at a later date, along with booking options. This flight will be a codeshare operation with Qatar Airways.
The Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita Doha flights operated by Qatar Airways will continue codeshared.
Not only, but also.
Hamad International Airport is a major node in the oneworld network, with carriers across the world accessing it (and not just the hometown airline of Qatar Airways). To the West, you have American Airlines, British Airways, and Finnair. To the East, you’ve got Malaysia Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines – and nearby, you have Royal Air Maroc and Royal Jordanian, all feeding in.
And connecting traffic has its place, as well as direct flights, opening up options to passengers who wish to stray from a home carrier’s network.
With extra capacity between Japan and Qatar, it should provide a useful option for those who are travelling between the two countries, and beyond.
