The airline is planning to offer the following from the 29th of October:
- A daily service between Seattle and Shanghai-Pudong International Airport. This service will operate with an Airbus A330-900neo.
- A three-times-a-week service between Detriot to Shanghai-Pudong International Airport. This service will be booked for an Airbus A350-900
Looking forward to the March 2023 timetable, Delta will resume the four-times-weekly Los Angeles to Shanghai-Pudong service, a route last operated in February 2020.
Flights, as usual, are subject to governmental approval but are available for booking through Delta’s usual sale channels.
All routes will offer a choice of four onboard experiences — Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.
Customers flying with Delta will be able to connect to many other cities within China via the airline’s partnership with China Eastern Airlines. Together the airlines operate 260 codeshare flights per week, providing travel options for customers and a seamless customer experience.

Serving demand
Since 2020, demand has been softer than usual for services to China – for all the obvious reasons.
Subject to the various aviation administrations and decisions at the governmental level will play a part in how many more services a week can service the Chinese market – and who serves them.
For Delta, it seems that they have everything lined up for flights to take off on the 29th of October – and all things being equal, they should do.
