It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i on final approach to Chicago O’Hare International as it completes the transatlantic trip from Frankfurt-Main in classic Lufthansa house colours.
Lufthansa operates a fleet of 19 Boeing 747-8i – the last of the passenger variant of the Boeing 747 family. The airline also operates the Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-300, Airbus A340-600, Airbus A350-900, Airbus A380, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 787-9 in its widebody fleet, which is used to connect the hubs of Frankfurt and Munich to the world.
This aircraft – D-ABYD – is named Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The aircraft joined the Lufthansa fleet in August 2012, remaining in its fleet since delivery.
It is active within the Lufthansa fleet, operating from its Frankfurt base to Sao Paulo, Houston, Singapore and San Francisco.
More Airplane Art next week!
