It seems that intrest in the Embraer E170/E175 aircraft is still high, with Skywest ordering more aircraft.

Embraer and SkyWest have agreed to the sale of 19 new E175 jets to SkyWest. These will be operated by SkyWest for United Airlines.
These 19 aircraft will join the existing 90 E175 jets SkyWest already operates for United. The E175 aircraft will fly exclusively with United under a Capacity Purchase Agreement ). The value of the contract, which has been included in Embraer’s Q3 backlog, is US$ 1.1 billion, based on the current list price.
The 70-seat aircraft will be delivered in a three-class configuration.
SkyWest will take deliveries of these new aircraft commencing Q4 2024.

President and CEO of SkyWest, Chip Childs said:
“SkyWest is already the largest E175 operator in the world, and when this order is delivered we will have over 250 E175s. We look forward to continuing to improve the passenger flying experience with enhanced comfort and reliability.”
Martyn Holmes, CCO, of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said,
“We are pleased to build upon our superb partnership with SkyWest. The E175 is truly a versatile aircraft, the backbone of North American regional aviation.”
Growing the regional fleets
SkyWest operates regional services for American Airlines (under American Eagle), Delta Air Lines (under Delta Connection) and United Airlines (under United Express). The fleet is split between Bombardier CRJ-700, Bombardier CRJ-900, and Embrear E175 (both in a 70-seat and 75-seat configuration).
Since Bombardier has left the regional jet space (with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries holding the type certificates, whilst ending production in 2020), one of the few companies making smaller turbojets is Embraer.
Of course, there are other options to grow – be it going to a turboprop fleet (working with ATR or De Havilland) or scaling up to larger Embraer aircraft and the Airbus A220. These options may not be wanted or viable (thanks to scope clauses) – but for now there is a source for smaller regional jets, that can be obtained new and can be deployed in-fleet.
With the regional networks important to the US Major airlines, having that capacity ready to go continues to form a key part of their operations.
