It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a United Airlines Boeing 767-300ER in post-merger paintwork, as it prepares to depart Zurich Airport from the E Dock bound for Newark International Airport.
United Airlines operates a fleet of 36 active Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in its widebody fleet.
The airline also operates Boeing 767-400ER, Boeing 777-200, Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787-8, Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 787-10 in its widebody operation, supporting bringing passengers across the world to the airline’s global gateways – as well as operating some flights domestically too.
This aircraft – N684UA – started life with Hawaiian Airlines in October 2002 as N588HA. It remained in the Hawaiian fleet until June 2018, whereupon it was withdrawn from use. After a period of storage, United Airlines picked up this aircraft (along with two others) to join its fleet.
The aircraft has had a busy week, operating from the US East Coast and Midwest to Europe – from Newark, Washington Dulles and Chicago O’Hare to Zurich, Geneva and London Heathrow.
More Airplane Art next week!

- And yes. This is about one of the few aviation photos I got that day. It’s a sore subject.
