It’s time for another Snapshot, looking at the Passenger Experience aboard British Airways between London Heathrow and Zurich in Euro Traveller (Economy Class).
In case you’ve forgotten how we do travel write-ups on Economy Class and Beyond, we have two major travel writing styles:
- Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience, the small things… as well as the big things!
- Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the product in some gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone)
Today, we’re on the Snapshot. The full in-depth review is… a work in progress. Yes, that’s the polite term.
Check-in
Online check-in was completed the day before when I was notified of a flight time change in the inbound segment.
Paper boarding passes were obtained from a printer at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5… sometimes I prefer to fly with a paper boarding pass.
Security
Fast-track security was used at Terminal 5 South. There were only two people in the queue to be processed.
The bag was processed successfully and I was clear of the security control in under five minutes.
Lounge
The Galleries North Lounge was used, as my flight was departing from Gate A8.
Catering at this time was breakfast, with adequate seating at 5:40 in the morning.
This lounge was filled by the time I departed the lounge at 7 am.
Boarding
Boarding was from the main T5A complex and from a jetbridge.
The aircraft
This was a British Airways Airbus A320, with a modified front-galley segment, with Row 1 directly exposed to the entranceway.
The Seat
As usual, the Collins Aerospace Pinnaicale seat is present in the A320ceo.
As I was in Row 13 (the second exit row), there was an extended amount of legroom.
Connectivity
There was no active Wi-Fi presence on this aircraft, nor was there power at the seat.
Food and Drink
British Airways provided a 250ml bottle of water and a pre-packaged breakfast bar.
Additional options could be either pre-ordered or purchased from the catering bar run.
For those in Club Europe, a breakfast and bar service was offered.
Landing
The aircraft landed at Zurich Airport and connected to the airport at the E Dock (the satellite terminal).
From there I was able to head into Switzerland and clear immigration after a 20-minute wait to be seen.
Other photos
The full review and trip report is coming soon. And it’s going to be a doozy.
