- Older yes. Wiser? Dear deity… of course not!
After a couple of false attempts to enter (with my passport deciding to hide in my coat well, followed by the paper boarding passes), I made it into the lounge.
I was buzzed in and found some seats to relax in.
As it was dark, a window seat wasn’t essential, but it was nice to have.
However, it’s also breakfast time, so it’s time for some breakfast items.
British Airways presented their usual breakfast service, comprised of hot items (Bacon, Eggs, Sausages, mushrooms, hash browns and beans).
as well as cold items…
Sauces…
Cereals…
Bread and Pastries
Yoghurts and porridge.
I grabbed myself a serving and made some interesting sandwiches. As well as something for the start of the day.
It’s pink fizz. I’m allowed it today. With the partnership British Airways has with Bottega, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind me emptying a glass. Or two.
But no more – I have to be semi-conscious when I head to the gate and travelled. Besides, it’s unfair if I present a biological hazard inflight.
There were also other drink options at the various bars – and thankfully, still all self-serve.
The North Lounge filled out as I waited for my flight, and whilst it was clearly used and in need of a little love, it was still a suitable facility for Club passengers. Sadly, it does need to be a little larger to handle the ever-increasing passenger flow that Heathrow T5 gets (be they O&D or connecting).
Whilst the furnishings I expect to get a tart up and fix, the space… that’s another issue, given how much Heathrow airport likes space for retail purposes. At least the future was in reasonable condition.
Which is good to see – compared to some crap holes I’ve visited this year.
On the plus side, the coffee machine worked very well that morning.
I kind of kept my eye on the flight – but it seems updates weren’t being pushed to the app.
One minute the sign said to wait in the lounge, the next, Final Call. Oopsie. It seems I didn’t keep that close of an eye on it too closely.
I made haste out of the lounge and headed down to the gate area – thankfully A8 isn’t far from the North Lounge – even if the terminal was a lot busier than before.
Boarding was still in full flight when I arrived. I presented my passport and boarding pass for checking and was allowed to scan my boarding pass
With that, I headed down the escalator and to the aircraft.
