The move comes after the airline announced it will resume flying to Minneapolis (Minnesota) as of 13th May 2024 and its planned service extension to Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina) through the summer.
The new service will commence on the 23rd of May 2024, with a three-times-a-week service. Planned operations are as follows;
AF068 DEPART CDG 10:10 ARRIVE PHX 12:10 AF069 DEPART PHX 14:10 ARRIVE CDG 09:15+1 Commences 23rd May 2024 Operates Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in both directions Booked Equipment: Air France Boeing 787-9
Air France will operate a Boeing 787-9 on this route, with it in a three-class configuration comprising of 30 seats in Business class, 21 in Premium Economy and 228 in Economy.
17 US, 24 North American Destinations
The USA is an important market for Air France, with this now the 17th destination served from Paris and the 24th in North America.
Air France also serves Atlanta, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Montreal, Minneapolis, New York JFK, Newark, Ottawa, Phoenix, Quebec City, Raleigh-Durham, San Francisco, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver and Washington DC.
That’s covering a lot of gateways in the USA – as well as offering options via its Transatlantic Joint Venture partners.
Whilst a three-days-a-week service feels like a “dipping the toe in the water” route, the airline will need to draw both on its leisure demand, as well as the corporate clients who have no doubt requested a round to be operated.
It could be interesting to see how long the route operates…
