Whilst some of us have been catching up in the World of Pokemon (as the Global Sinnoh tour is in full swing), let’s turn our eyes back to the world of Frequent Flying in Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Looking down Church Street, from Cathedral Square – Central Birmingham
Polishing Silver
I’m glad many of you are enjoying my latest Trip Report – Polishing Silver. I’ve got another four parts ready for next week. For now, enjoy some of the premium stuff that I encountered – as well as some steps.
- Welcome to Dublin Airport and The Premier Inn, Swords
- Early Morning at Dublin Airport, US Preclearance and the 51st & Green Lounge
- American Airlines AA723 Dublin to Philadelphia (Flagship Business Class)
- Into Philadelipa and Climbing Rocky’s Steps
Singapore Air Show
The biannual Singapore Air Show had its week in the sun. Whilst thin on orders, it shows COMAC was ready to step out onto the world stage, and that airlines still want widebody aircraft.
- Day 1: Boeing and COMAC step forward
- Day 2: Enter Airbus
- Day 3: More orders and understandings for ATR and Airbus
Other Aircraft orders
- Breeze Airways to add an additional 10 Airbus A220 aircraft to its fleet – it looks like someone is exercising options.
IFE
- Air India selects Thales AVANT IFE System for its long-haul fleet – a big switch as Air India unifies its long-haul IFE systems under the AVANT banner.
Routes and Networks
- Emirates works on its South American Network with a new route to Bogata – with a stop in Miami both ways.
- Budapest Airport increases connectivity, with further Ryanair flights – six new routes and many boosts at Budapest.
- Qatar Airways to return to Lisbon, Portugal – four times a week to the Portuguese capital
Sponsorships
- Fly on the wings of Love: easyJet becomes the Offical Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest – Nice idea. Shame easyJet doesn’t fly to Malmo.
Pretty Pictures
How was day one of GoFest Global?
I was a sucker – and paid out for 50 raid passes. It’s been reasonable, with Diaga’s and Palika’s for days
As for shiny Pokemon… not so great, with only four today.
And if you play, reach out on my Social Media Handles if you want to be friends.
Next Week
Things return to normal, as we continue into the last week of February and barrel into March. I’ll have a bit more from the “Polishing Silver” trip report, with some… experiences. That’s the term I’m going to use.
So we’re back to our usual headline scouting, with routes, orders and anything else that tickles my fancy that I missed last week.
Until then, Happy landings.
