Reecaro has supplied its latest-generation long-haul seat – the CL3810 to Malaysia Airlines. The carrier will be the first to feature the CL3810 installed.
More than 5,000 CL3810 pax are set to be delivered for a line-fit on Malaysia Airlines’ A330neo aircraft, starting in Q3 2024 through to 2028.
The CL3810 is nearly 15% lighter than its predecessor, which will contribute to significant fuel savings for airlines while optimizing cabin performance and thus helping the airline improve its sustainability.
The seats will be dressed in a customized trim and finish, incorporating Malaysia Airlines’ signature songket motif. In terms of features, you’ll be in a seat with a pitch ranging from 31 to 36 inches, a 6-inch recline, a 13.3-inch in-flight entertainment system, and individual power access at each seat with type USB-C and USB-A ports.

The seat cushions feature layered foam and ergonomic technology, with a six-way adjustable headrest, and a Comfort+ seat bottom with articulation to improve will further enhance the passenger experience on long-haul flights.
In addition, the unique slim backrest design will provide an extra inch of knee space – an important consideration for the long-haul missions this aircraft will be used for.

In the back, comfort and space matters
We all know airlines love density in the back of an aircraft – it allows them to maximise revenue and helps with passenger counts. But the trick is to manage the passenger’s desire for comfort, as well as personal space is important.
Malaysia Airlines has chosen to go with the tried and tested formula of 2-4-2 seating down the back of the aircraft – which combined with the slim seat backs and design of the C3810 should allow passengers to relax when they travel.
When testing the C3810, we’ve found that the 31″ pitch offers a good amount of legroom (with your author being 175cm tall) – even in the demonstration modules.

With the seat being a key part of the passenger experience, it is welcoming to see an airline choose a comfortable option, especially for long-haul missions.
