Condor of Germany is continuing its fleet renewal apace, with the first Airbus A320neo delivered to the airline by Airbus.
The new aircraft is registered as D-ANCZ. It was delivered from Toulouse to Frankfurt-am-Main Airport, arriving at 16:08. And as you can see – it’s got red and white stripes – a rather bold choice.
This marks the start of the renewal of Condor’s short and medium-haul fleet following the completion of the long-haul fleet modernization.
The new A320neo fleet will be powered by Pratt & Whitney engines and offer passengers maximum comfort with Airbus’ unique Airspace cabin. They will also offer the “FlyConnect” internet and entertainment portal offers the latest entertainment programs, which can be streamed on personal devices. Guests can also purchase data packages via the platform.
More importantly, larger overhead bins have been installed for personal items to go in.
This will allow Condor to start to standardise the cabin as it completes the fleet renewal.

Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor said:
“Condor is continuing to modernize its fleet, consistently combining responsible travel with maximum customer comfort. Since last month, we have been flying exclusively with brand-new A330neo aircraft on long-haul routes and are now starting on short and medium-haul routes,”
“We are welcoming the first A320neo today and the first A321neo will join the fleet in June. With the seamless continuation of the fleet renewal on short and medium-haul routes, Condor will soon be operating one of the most modern fleets in Europe.”
Entry into service
There will be some transition time for the crews, with the first commercial flight being scheduled for 15th May 2024, operating between Frankfurt and Palma de Mallorca.
Condor is keeping up with this fleet renewal, with a total of 41 new aircraft, including 13 Airbus A320neo and 28 Airbus A321neo, which will be successively introduced to the fleet, replacing the existing short and medium-haul routes by 2029.
It’s a busy time as new aircraft come in, to replace the older aircraft that have served Condor well from its Thomas Cook days.
