It seems Etihad Airways is still interested in making friends, with the airline adding five new airline interline partners.
Etihad Airways has launched reciprocal interline partnerships with:
- Kam Air of Afghanistan
- SKY express of Greece
- Rex Airlines of Australia
- Jeju Air of Korea
- Myanmar Airways International
The interline agreements give customers of all airlines involved enhanced connectivity to destinations across each other’s networks, enabling passengers to book their entire journey on a single ticket and have their baggage checked through seamlessly to their end destination.
Where to connect
Depending on which end of the interline agreement will depend on where you need to connect.
- For Kam Air, you will need to connect at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport guests for connections to Kabul and travel onward into Afghanistan.
- SKY express passengers can connect with Etihad’s twice daily flights to Athens to 28 destinations in Greece and its Mediterranean islands.
- Rex Airlines can connect in Sydney and Melbourne to 22 destinations in Australia, including Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
- Jeju Air passengers will need to connect at Seoul-Incheon to continue their journey to 27 destinations across seven countries in Northeast Asia.
- Myanmar Airways International will give access to Yangon and Mandalay through Etihad’s gateways in South Asia.

“We continue to broaden our network reach enabling seamless connection across our network, giving our guests a broader range of travel options. These five interline agreements make life easier for guests of all the airlines involved.”
Building more partners
Etihad now has 123 interline, codeshare and strategic partnerships with airlines across the world. For passengers, it boils down to convenience and the hope that you’ll drop off your baggage at one airport, for it to appear at the other end with connections in play.
There’s also the convince of just having one place to book a ticket without diving through multiple booking engines.
And for a lot of consumers – that convenience is worth paying for.
