Last week, Emirates teased its first A350 destinations. One of those was Edinburgh – which is returning to the network after an absence.
Let’s dive into what the plans are to serve the Scottish Capital.
Emirates A350-900 – Rendering, Emirates
Operations will commence on the 4th of November 2024. The planned timetable is as follows;
EK23 DEPART DXB 14:50 ARRIVE EDI 19:05 EK24 DEPART EDI 20:40 ARRIVE DXB 0805+1 Commences: 4th November 2024 Operates Daily Booked Equipment: Emirates Airbus A350-900.
The Dubai to Edinburgh route will be served utilising the Emirates A350-900 aircraft in a three-class configuration, with 32 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Economy and 259 seats in Economy Class.
The returning route will complement the existing weekly flights to Glasgow (currently operated by an Airbus A380), offering 14 flights a week between Scotland and Duabi, without the need to change in London or Europe.
Emirates first launched operations in Edinburgh in 2018 utilising a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, until the route was suspended in 2020.
If you’re travelling from Edinburgh, you can also access the airline’s extensive network of more than 130 destinations via Dubai, including popular destinations such as Maldives, Bangkok, Sydney, and Bali, with the flight timings to meet the morning departure bank.
For those choosing the lift cargo, Emirates’ daily flight to Edinburgh will also boost cargo capacity and enable Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s cargo arm, to uplift 16 tonnes of cargo per flight – supporting local businesses, improving trade links with global markets, and increasing popular exports such as salmon, shellfish, and whisky.
Back to eight destinations
Emirates has a large destination count across the UK, with the airline serving eight major airports including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Glasgow.
Eirates deploys its fleet here – with a mixture of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
With Edinburgh rejoining the party, they will have over 133 flights a week between the United Kingdom and Dubai.
It’s an impressive way to funnel traffic from the regions into Dubai and beyond.
Ticketing is open at emirates.com, via travel agents, the usual sales channels and the Emirates Sales Office.
