It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have an Aer Lingus Airbus A330-200 climbing out of Chicago O’Hare as it begins the transatlantic crossing back to its home of Dublin, Ireland.
Aer Lingus operates three of the range-optimised Airbus A330-200 aircraft in its widebody operation. These aircraft support the other nine Airbus A330-300 that the airline uses.
This aircraft – EI-GEY – was initially delivered to Qatar Airways, where it operated until March 2018. It was then delivered to Aer Lingus in May 2018, where it has remained. Like some of the Aer Lingus fleet, it was parked for three years between 2020 and 2023. The aircraft sees active use, with it operating from its Dubin base (as well as Shannon) to Toronto, Faro and Chicago.
More Airplane Art next week.
