The seats will be configured to maximize living space and enhance passenger comfort.

Comfort features of the selected seat include an enhanced cushion for the seat bottom and backrest, an integrated headrest, and the modern convenience of USB-C power at each seat. These elements are designed to enhance the well-being and connectivity of passengers during their flight.

The R2 seat not only promises an elevated travel experience for passengers but also offers environmental and economic benefits to the airline. The seat’s innovative lightweight structure is a testament to the commitment of sustainability at RECARO. The reliability of the R2 also aligns with airBaltic’s cost-efficiency goals by reducing the aircraft’s overall weight, resulting in lower fuel consumption, and minimizing maintenance costs over the seat’s lifetime.

Deliveries commence in Delivery is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2026., covering the entire fleet.

With this step, airBaltic will become the first carrier in Europe and the second one in the world to feature these RECARO seats on an A220-300 aircraft.
