easyJet announces a tie-up with Costa Coffee

07/06/2024 by Kevincm

easyJet and Costa Coffee have announced a new collaboration that will see two of the UK’s leading brands take flight together. Serving millions of customers across Europe, Costa Coffee will be available onboard all easyJet flights from this summer.

Set to launch late summer 2024, the new offering will see a range of Costa Coffee’s hot beverage options take to the skies, with easyJet customers able to choose from Cappuccino, Latte, Salted Caramel Latte, as well as a Decaf option, crafted specifically for tasting great at 30,000 feet.

The collaboration is set to further enhance the range of onboard refreshments easyJet offers through its EAT.DRINK.SHOP range, served across easyJet’s entire network of nearly 1000 routes to more than 155 airports across 35 countries, through easyJet’s catering and retail partner dnata.

Russell Braterman, Proposition and In Flight Retail Director, easyJet, said:

“We are always looking for ways to enhance our customers’ onboard experience, which includes offering great quality brands that our customers know and love, and so we’re delighted to be launching this delicious new range of Costa Coffee products this summer who we have been working with for some time to develop the perfect recipes for our customers to enjoy.”

Mark Cumming, UK Commercial Director, Costa Coffee, said:

“Working with easyJet to bring Costa Coffee on board their flights is an exciting milestone for us and will see us take to the skies this summer. It’s a testament to our commitment to making high-quality coffee accessible to everyone as we’ve developed an airline friendly range that tastes great at 30,000 feet. As we prepare to embark on this journey together, we look forward to offering our products to millions of passengers this Summer – enriching their inflight experience with the great taste of Costa Coffee.”

Richard Bainbridge, Retail Director, dnata Catering said:

“As easyJet’s inflight retail partner, dnata are delighted to be working with both easyJet and Costa Coffee on bringing to the inflight retail market this amazing coffee proposition, giving our customers a high street branded coffee experience during flight. The range of specially developed drinks complement the wider range of food and meals on board perfectly, which we hope will delight our customers.”

Coffee is never a bad thing…

Sadly, no one has built a decent enough espresso machine (and no, an industrial Nespresso machine doesn’t count) for aviation use to extract the appropriate strength shots.

Thus, as you can see from the first image they’ll be using the “instant” packets – which are passable.

Still, it’s a step up from the basic instant coffee onboard…
