Well, we’ve passed Independence Day (in more than a few ways, depending on where you are in the world) but it’s still Saturday, so it must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Birmingham has gone on a Bear Hunt. You can find out more at https://wildinart.co.uk/events/bear-hunt-birmingham/
AIX Deep Dives
More from my notepad post-Aircraft Interiors Expo, with a bit more analysis.
- The Stelia Opera Essentials – Weigh saver… or discount business class candidate?
- The Expliseat Ti2X Prime for Air France – Passable for the mission?
Snapshots
- British Airways 967 Hamburg to London Heathrow – Yes. I finished writing that thing. The trip report isn’t far away now. I just need to… write and put images in pretty places.
New Aircraft News
- Air Canada to lease eight additional Boeing 737-8 aircraft – To be delivered in a single-class layout initially…
Passenger Experience
- Emirates lines up the first routes for its refurbished Boeing 777-300ER aircraft -The beginning of the end of 2-3-2 in business class
Routes and Networks
- ITA Airways to launch a Rome – Bangkok winter route – It seems that demand is recovering to Bangkok – with lots of choices this winter
Buy and Sell in the small adverts
- Boeing to bring Spirit Aerosystems back in-house – With Airbus in the mixture too
- European Commission Greenlights Lufthansa Groups 41% Acquisition of ITA Airways – Well, that’s taken long enough
Trains
- West Midlands Trains proposes it serves Manchester in its latest plans – But with the change in government, this (along with other plans) could fall under “we’ll see”.
Pretty Pictures
Next Week
The real world is still a big pain for me, as I get ready to move and prepare for another office move (and trust me, if I thought the last one was complex, this one… has its own set of issues that are introducing a lot more swear words into my vocabulary). Thus output will still be lower than I would like.
I need to work in coffee shops late in the evening to get some of the stuff out that I need to finish up – and yes, that includes a trip report (but let me finish the image collage that goes with it), but I should have some rather big bits out during the week – along with more AIX deep-dives.
On top of that, I’ll be covering all the usual things that pass my desk, feed, inbox and other things the carrier pidgeon brings me.
Until then, Happy Landings!
