It seems Jet2 has done well, and in its preliminary results, it has confirmed it has exercised its options with Airbus for further aircraft.
Jet2 Airbus A321neo – Rendering, Airbus.
The leisure airline has chosen to exercise the remaining 36 purchase rights of Airbus aircraft order originally announced in late 2021. The option was taken in June 2024.
This means that they will take delivery of 146 A321neo family aircraft through to 2035.
The airline originally ordered 36 A321neos in 2021, adding a further 21, taking it to 57 at the end of that year. Since then it has ordered the smaller A320neo, along with other A321s, steadily increasing its order book.
Jet2 has taken delivery of 6 Airbus A321neos so far, all powered by CFM LEAP Engines. Currently, Acro Aircraft seating will be supporting Jet2, with the delivery of 98 shipsets of Series 9 Fixed Back seats.

A changing fleet
Jet2 has a diverse fleet. Along with the Airbus A321neos, the airline also operates the Airbus A321, Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 757-200 and a pair of Airbus A330-200 (operated by AirTanker).
The older aircraft (in particular the Boeing 737-300 and Boeing 757-200 fleet will be the first to exit, as further A321neo deliveries come on stream. From there, the new aircraft can be used to replace older Boeing 737-800 or grow its operations as needed.
Considering deliveries are running until 2035, it’s going to be a slow fleet growth.
