Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (13th July)

13/07/2024 by Kevincm

We’ve reached the end of another week, which has been spent too much on my knees and not at a console writing things that could be understood in the English Language.

But it is Saturday evening again, so it must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

Apple Store Birmingham
Modern Fruit Stores – The Apple Store, Birmingham.

TRIP REPORT: Exploring Passenger Innovation in a rush

It’s new trip report season (at last) with me finally having the time to convert the text in my document management system into content. Enjoy the first three parts. If the editing gods are with me during next week, expect another three.

  • Exploring the Latest in Passenger Experience… In a Rush. To Aircraft Interiors Expo with British Airways
  • Flixing over to London and to Heathrow
  • British Airways North or South Lounge?

AIX 2024 post-show coverage.

  • FlightPath 3D to offer Accessibility Options – Innovation can come from simple requirements sometimes.
  • The promise of LEO Inflight Connectivity – and its path to delivery – And yes, it will matter how you get your Wi-Fi in the air.

Routes and Networks

  • Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia to Start a Joint Venture – I’m sure this joint venture will stand by them for country and for home.
  • Etihad expands its North American presence – Boston goes daily, Toronto goes A350
  • SAS firms up codeshares with Air France and KLM – All ready for the 1st of September.

New Aircraft news

  • Jet2 to exercise all remaining purchase rights on its A321neo order

Pretty Pictures

  • United Airlines Boeing 757-300 climbing out of Chicago O’Hare

Next Week

I’d love to say I would have a normal week next week, with our usual coverage, however, I’m into another office move that’s going to consume my life over the next two weeks or so.

I’m spending some time preparing some content to go out whilst I’m lifting plastic crates with PC equipment in them. Hopefully, in the quiet points in the evening, I’ll have some energy to drag myself away from a streaming service to do some research and writing.

And yes, I’m well aware Farnbourgh is very much around the corner – which is shaping up to be interesting this year.

Let’s hope the office builds go well and the network decides to function.

Until then, Happy Landings!
