The agreement will cover the installation of Viasat’s Ka-band connectivity across 15 aircraft in LOT’s wide-body Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner fleets.
This will be the first time that LOT will offer inflight Wi-Fi for the first time as part of a major, ongoing upgrade to its Dreamliner fleets, which also includes a new internal cabin design, seat replacements and more.
With Ka-band connectivity, this should offer a high bandwidth connectivity, offering options such as video streaming, email, web browsing, and social media.
Once in commercial operation, which is expected to begin no later than early 2026, these aircraft will be servicing LOT’s routes from Warsaw Chopin, giving passengers the experience of high-quality inflight connectivity while travelling LOT’s worldwide routes.

A lot more to unpack
For customers on LOT, this will be a big upgrade, to have connectivity onboard – something which the airline has lagged behind its competitors. Jumping to a high bandwidth solution such as Ka-band connectivity will make a big difference infight.
But the new cabin for the 787 looks… interesting from the lead image supplied.
At Econmoy Class and Beyond, we suspect we’ll be doing some digging, or seeing a new release cross the wire soon…
