For those of you who are planning to head to Bali (Denpasar), there’s extra capacity being added by Emirates.
Emirates will add a second daily Airbus A380 service between Dubai and Bali, starting 1 September and until 26 October, to meet the surge in travel demand to the island during the upcoming peak season.
From 1 September to 26 October 2024, Emirates’ flight EK398/399 between Dubai and Bali will be upgraded to an Airbus A380, replacing the current Boeing 777 service.
The extra capacity builds upon the airline deploying A380 services to Indoeia in June 2023, which has aided driving and delivering tourists to the region.
By serving Bali with double A380 flights, the airline will offer more than 2,600 additional weekly seats to and from the island to help accommodate the growing demand during the peak travel season.
Emirates launched a non-stop daily service from Dubai to Bali in 2015, adding to its scheduled flights to Jakarta which began in 1992. Emirates flies to more than 144 destinations across six continents and currently offers double daily flights to Jakarta and Bali.
More seats for the prime season
It seems Emirates is happy to upgauge a service to provide extra capacity – given that an Emirates A380 has a 520 seat count, compared with the standard 360 offered aboard a 777-300ER (in a three-class configuration).
And 160 extra seats a day (with significant premium capacity bumps too) will be welcome for travellers as they prepare to go off to enjoy the sun. Over the period when the A380 is being operated, that’s over 7900 extra seats being offered during a critical travel period.
With Emirates expecting travellers, this could offer a chance for a much more comfortable fight, rather than crammed into a 777…
