Singapore Airlines is adjusting the capacity of its network, with some changes and frequencies for summer 2025.
Additional Capacity
London Gatwick
For those of you who want to access Singapore from the South of England (or don’t want to deal with Heathrow), Singapore Airlines is converting its five times a week service to a daily service from 30th March 2025. The airline will offer five daily services to London in total.
This will see an Airbus A350-900 on the route.
Rome
Services to Rome will increase to five times a week between 26 June 2025 and 28 August 2025, up from the current four weekly flights, with an Airbus A350-900.
Milan and Barcelona
Currently, services are linked up to operate a three-times-a-week service. Between 24 June 2025 to 7 September 2025, flights will operate directly. The Airline will operate five times weekly direct flights to Barcelona during this period, up from the current two weekly flights. Milan will have a daily service, up from four times weekly currently.
These will be operated with an Airbus A350-900.
Adelaide
Flights to Adelaide will go up to 10 a week across the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons, up from the current seven-times weekly services.
These will use a Boeing 787-10 on this route.
Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap
Frequencies to Ho Chi Minh City will rise to thrice daily, up from 19 times weekly, and services to Siem Reap will go to twice daily, up from a daily service.
Ho Chi Minh City will see an A350-900 being used, whilst Siem Reap will see Boeing 737 8 aircraft.
Johannesburg
For the peak northern winter holiday period (and beyond) an additional three-times weekly service will be added to Johannesburg from 11 December 2024 to 10 January 2025, and from 2 April 2025 to 24 October 2025, bringing the total number of flights to the city to 10 times a week, up from the current daily services, during these periods.
This additional service will use an Airbus A350-900.
Tokyo Narita
For those heading out to the airport in Chiba, Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 will return to Tokyo (Narita) between 30 March 2025 and 31 May 2025 on one of its two daily services, replacing the Boeing 787-10.
Changes and Removals
Mumbai
The A380 will stop operating to Mumbai from 28 July 2025 to 31 August 2025, and Delhi from 23 June 2025 to 27 July 2025, and will be replaced by a Boeing 777-300ER.
Houston
It seems the fifth-freedom flight between Manchester and Houston has been axed, with Singapore Airlines planning to suspend services from 1 April 2025. There is good news for Mancunians, with the five-times weekly services between Singapore and Manchester via SQ302 and SQ301 being kept.
The Manchester service will see an Airbus A350-900 continue to be rostered on it.

A lot of increases – but another fifth-freedom service is cut.
Singapore Airlines is juggling its capacity, with the airline working to the peak seasons and adding a lot of capacity with their Airbus A350-900 fleet (with long haul cabins installed).
Whilst there might be a few flights there and there, they add frequency – allowing travellers to plan and be more flexible.
The only real fly in the ointment is the loss of the Houston service (which operated via Manchester). This will leave Singapore Airlines travellers having to change planes at either Newark, New York-JFK, Los Angeles or San Francisco.
Although if the rumours are to be believed on the loads… maybe that’s not so bad.
