For those of you who fly American Airlines, some big expansions ar coming in for 2025 as routes are added, services extended and some big seating changes to Asia.
The airline is planning to grow its Transatlantic network, with the airline returning to Edinburgh, Scotland for the first time since 2019 and adding new routes to Athens, Greece; Madrid, Spain; Milan and Rome in Italy.
American will expand its schedule to Italy next year with new services from Miami to Rome and Philadelphia to Milan Malpensa. American Airlines will serve Rome from six U.S. airports in 2025
With a new service from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Athens, American Airlines will offer four daily flights to Greece in 2025. Finally, the new Chicago O’Hare to Madrid service will supplement the Iberia service offered, allowing connections to destinations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Service Renewals
The airline is planning to offer more than 70 daily departures to more than 20 trans-Atlantic destinations in summer 2025. Launched in 2024, American will bring back flights to Copenhagen, Denmark; Naples, Italy; and Nice, France for the 2025 summer travel season. These are starting earlier, or being extended to normal operations

Premium operations expansion to Asia.
Finally, for those who want a big seat at the front of the aircraft, the airline will expand capacity on four routes to Asia.
Customers will have more access to Tokyo and beyond with larger aircraft operating on American Airlines flights from Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles to Japan.

For those who can plan more than a few months ahead, this will be a good time to check for award space when the tickets go on sale. For those looking for extra sears to Asia, there’s more capacity too with larger aircraft coming online for these routes.
