Etihad Airways to double its Paris services

12/09/2024 by Kevincm

With Etihad Airways planning to return the Airbus A380 to Paris, the airline plans to add extra capacity, with a double-daily service starting early next year.

The airline will go double-daily on the Paris – Abu Dhabi route from the 15th of January 2025.

The new flight schedule will feature the return of Etihad’s Airbus A380 from 1 November 2024, followed by the introduction a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operating the second daily flight from 15 January 2025.

These will be timed for a morning and evening departure, allowing connectivity and transit as needed, whilst supporting business and tourism options.  Morning arrivals in Paris give tourists the advantage of early hotel check-ins and more time to explore the city’s attractions, while evening arrivals cater to those seeking a smooth transition after work or other commitments. For business travellers, the schedule allows for full working days at both ends of the journey.

In terms of product, The A380 will allow passengers to enjoy Etihad’s high-end features, including The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in the sky, First Apartments, and Business Studios. Economy passengers will also benefit from extra legroom and the renowned Etihad service.

Etihad’s 787-9 Dreamliner complements the A380 service, offering First, Business, and Economy Class cabins, with amenities designed for comfort, productivity, and relaxation.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, said:

“Paris is a city that epitomises elegance and sophistication, and we are thrilled to offer two daily flights that provide our guests with a premium travel experience. The return of the A380 to Paris, followed by the addition of our three-class 787-9 Dreamliner, underscores our commitment to providing our customers with the very best in service, connectivity, and convenience, and enhances both business and leisure travel, offering seamless connectivity to our growing network across the GCC, Asia, and beyond.”

He added:

“This increase in frequency reflects the strong demand for travel between Abu Dhabi and Paris, and further cements Abu Dhabi’s position as a key gateway to the world. Whether our guests are flying for business, leisure, or to explore the rich culture of both cities, Etihad’s double daily flights will ensure that their journey is as seamless and enjoyable as possible”

Capacity is good. Frequency is better

Throwing capacity at a route is a good sign – it shows there is growth and the premium travel to support it. By adding an extra frequency, Etihad Airways shows there is a lot more untapped potential in the Paris market for its needs – be it destination traffic, or connecting traffic via the airline’s Abu Dhabi hub.

By offering double-daily flights, there are further chances to capture market share, and connecting traffic, whilst adding convenience for the passenger.

A rather useful frequency addition for Etihad customers.
