Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (26th Ocotober)

26/10/2024 by Kevincm

It’s the weekend before you step back in time in the UK – as the clocks prepare to go back, leaving British Summer Time behind and going into Greenwich Mean Time.

But it’s the end of the week – which means it’s time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

TRIP REPORT: Taking the Long Way (and back) to Singapore

I’ve entered the phase where we’re now on the return journey – with a lot more adventures ahead. Five segments this week for your delectation and enjoyment. It might be a little more next week, as I attempt to wrap up the trip report.

  • Returning to Changi Airport, The Pokemon Centre at the Jewel and Terminal 4
  • 3K513 – Singapore Changi to Bangkok with Jetstar Asia (Economy Class)
  • One Night in Bangkok, featuring the Avagard Capsule Hotel at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi
  • An early morning at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, and The Miracle Lounge, D Pier
  • Finnair AY142 Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Helsinki (BUSINESS CLASS)

Routes and Networks

  • Norse Atlantic Airways to launch a Rome to Los Angeles – “Due to popular demand”
  • Finnair adds more capacity to the USA and Asia for Summer 2025 – with a lot of traffic going to American Airlines hubs.

Passenger Experience

  • Qatar Airways commences flying with Starlink connectivity – One plane activated, with 12 planned by the end of the year
  • Qantas announces cabin upgrades for its A330-200 fleet – with Recaro R3 seats coming.

Pretty pictures

  • United Airlines Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner arriving at Chicago O’Hare International

Next Week

It’s back to normal at Economy Class and Beyond next week (well, whatever counts as normal on this blog), as I go back to asking the famous words “Have you logged a ticket?”.

As noted above, next week, I’ll be putting a big push on the Singapore Trip Report to finish it up so I can clear the way for some new snapshots and a new trip report.

We’ll also be keeping an eye on the news wires, especially as the APEX Expo in Long Beach is coming in the coming week. Hopefully, we’ll have some interesting headlines over the week.

Just remember if you’re in the UK, clocks go back an hour at 2am on 27th. Enjoy the extra hour in bed.

Until then, Happy Landings!
