Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (23rd November

23/11/2024 by Kevincm

It’s that time of the week when we duck in from Storm Bert and look at some of the headlines that have passed over the email and desk feed.

Yes – It’s time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

It snowed on Colmore Row – Central Birmingham.

Trip Report: There and Back Again

Yes. The writing machine has been working semi-overtime on getting this out of the front door. Although various scheduling conflicts have hit the plan to get four parts out this week.  Next week could be a lot busier on this trip report.

  • There and Back Again – Long Haul Catch up with friends in Chicago with Oneworld Airlines
  • To the 2:40 Coach and Heathrow Terminal 3 – There and Back Again
  • Cathay Pacific and American Airlines Lounges at Heathrow T3 – There and Back Again

Aer Lingus, American Airlines and British Airways align “On the day benefits”.

Or “Wouldn’t it be a lot easier if Aer Lingus just joins oneworld at this point?”

  • Aer Lingus to offer more benefits for AerClub members flying with American Airlines and British Airways
  • British Airways confirms benefits for flying Aer Lingus on Transatlantic routes

Routes and Networks

  • easyJet plots a lot of route launches from the UK for Summer 2025 – 21 routes up for grabs
  • Norse Atlantic Airways to launch Stockholm to Bangkok – Coming October 2025

On the Railways

  • Avanti West Coast to introduce Water Refill Points aboard trains – Well, that’s one nice thing to see
  • The most… and least used rail stations in the UK – This year’s ORR numbers are out! Did Waterloo Station recover its number-one status?

Seating

  • Finnair’s new E190 seats – Comfort by Recaro – R2 in the front, R1 in the rear.

Pretty Pictures

  • British Airways Boeing 787-10 on final approach to Chicago O’Hare

Next Week

Whilst it might be the US Thanksgiving Weekend, I’ve got a full agenda on the blog to keep you all amused. Or at keep me going. We’ll have more from the Chicago trip report (as I fight to get it back onto some sort of schedule), as well as news you can use.

And who knows, I might get around to lining up some end-of-year things, as loyalty calendars wait for no one.

Until next week, Happy Landings!
