Yesterday, Emirates took delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft. We now have confirmation of the first route the new aircraft will serve, as well as a date.

And yes, it’s Edinburgh that will be the launch destination, with services commencing on the 3rd of January 2025.
The service to Edinburgh was relaunched on the 4th of November. Originally, this was meant to be operated with an Airbus A350. Since they were delayed, the airline chose to launch services with a Boeing 777-300ER instead, operating a mixture of two-class (Business and Economy Class) and three-class (Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class) aircraft on this route
The updated timings for the Dubai-Edinburgh route are:

The Emirates A350 will be rolled out to 8 other destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat and Bologna, with more destinations to follow as the fleet grows.
The airline also currently serves Glasgow with a daily A380 – offering customers 14 weekly flights to/from Scotland. Including Edinburgh, Emirates serves eight destinations in the UK.

Emirates is teasing out the press for its new Airbus A350 – with the airline now confirming the first date the A350 will fly.
