With the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER refit project going apace, the airline will introduce a third service between Dubai and Melbourne.
The third daily non-stop service between Dubai and Melbourne will commence on 30 March 2025. The third service will be operated with a newly retrofitted four-class Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with the Premium Economy product and latest generation Business class seats.
The airline currently operates two non-stop daily flights between Dubai and Melbourne using four-class Airbus A380s, and a daily flight that connects Dubai to Melbourne via Singapore with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
For those who want to use the fifth-freedom flight between Singapore and Melbourne, this will cease on 30 March 2025, with the airline planning to operate the third direct Dubai-Melbourne flight and fourth Dubai-Singapore service with new flight numbers.
The planned operation is below:
EK404 DEPART DXB 21:15 ARRIVE MEL 17:40+1 EK405 DEPART MEL 23:55 ARRIVE DXB 07:00+1 Commences as a new service on 30th March 2025 from Dubai Operates Daily Booked Equipment: Emirates Four-Class Boeing 777-300ER
The timings should allow passengers who connect in Dubai easy access to the airline’s European network.
As a reminder, Emirates has commenced refurbishing its Boeing 777-300ER fleet. These aircraft are configured with 8 First Class Suites, 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats.
Restoring Capacity to Australia
With the upcoming deployment of Emirates’ four-class Boeing 777 aircraft to and from Melbourne, the airline will offer 3,472 weekly Premium Economy seats across Melbourne and Sydney. In addition, Perth has restored its second daily flight, with Adelaide rejoining the network.
As a result, Emirates operates 77 weekly services to and from five Australian gateways – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, with connections available through the codeshare partnership with Qantas to 60 points across Australia and New Zealand.
For passengers, it’s going to provide choice when travelling to Australia – except if you’re going via Singapore – you’ll probably need to jump on a Qantas codeshare.
