Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said:
“Qatar Airways is delighted to announce the resumption of our flights to Malta, which marks a vibrant addition to our robust European network. Qatar and Malta enjoy staunch economic ties, and our operational relaunch to the country only furthers our relationship.”
“We are proud to continually offer our global community of adventurers and leisure travellers new destinations to discover and explore. From historic and cultural sites and attractions, sun and sea activities, to cities serving as locations for Hollywood movies and TV shows, Malta offers an exciting blend of memorable experiences for travellers – all set against the backdrop of the azure Mediterranean Sea.”
Swapping summer suns
With those who want to explore the sun and sights of Malta (least of all for those who wish to the shame shame shame gif from Game of Thrones), there’s plenty to explore, along with the breezes that an island can have.
For Qatar Airways, its another spoke connecting to their Doha hub that has been reconnected – and has seen enough signs of life that the airline wishes to reestablish its operations there.
It is a welcome escape for those who need it—or for those in Malta who need to get to Asia and beyond without backtracking through Europe.
