At the same time, the airline has announced it is to serve Iloilo City in the Philippines with a two-times-a-week service (scaling to four times a week in June). This will be served by an Embraer E195-E2, with seating for 112 passengers.
However, to support these route launches, the current service which serves Berlin will be dropped, which will see its last service on the 28th of March, whilst the service to Jinan will be dropped on the 28th of February.

Mr Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot said.
‘We remain committed to expanding our network and connecting travellers to new destinations around the world at a great value. As the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna, we are thrilled to introduce this new service from June, just in time for the holidays. With the launch of direct flights to lloilo City, we also hope to inspire our customers to explore more cities within South East Asia and embark on new travel experiences.”
The feeling has gone, only you and I, this airline means nothing to me
With Scoot switching European entry points, it’ll be interesting to see the marketing to drive the passengers on it – and I would go as far to say that they need to market to both Singaporeans as well as the residents of Vienna and beyond – given the accessibility of Slovakia, Czechia, Croatia and Slovenia all being three hours or so away
Whilst Scoot has taken Berlin’s breath away (as well as their direct link to Singapore), they’re giving another European city a chance. In this case, Oh! Viennna.
It’ll be a case of the revenue management dancing with tears in their eyes as they work out if it’s viable in the long term.
