Lufthansa has firmed up its latest product operations for Summer 2025 – specifically, aircraft with the new Allegris First Class suites.
For the summer timetable, Allegris First Class will be offered on flights throughout this period from Munich to
- San Francisco
- Chicago O’Hare
- San Diego
- Shanghai
- Bengaluru
These will also feature the new Business, Premium Economy and Economy products
Meanwhile, the three-class Allegris aircraft (Business, Premium Economy and Economy) will be offered on flights to:
- New York-Newark (from mid-April)
- Charlotte (from the beginning of August)
Since February, nine A350-900s with the new cabin interior have already been flying for Lufthansa, eight of them with the new First Class. Almost half a million passengers in all classes have now enjoyed the new cabin.
The next big step for Allegris is the retrofitting of the existing fleet with Lufthansa Allegris, which will commence beginning with the Boeing 747-8.
Allegris First Class features two individual suites and its Suites Plus (in which two suites can be combined into one). All Suites feature a 43″ In-Flight Entertainment screen, ceiling-high walls and a lockable door, a large table and a wide seat, with personal storage wardrobes.
To support the on-the-ground experience, First Class guests can also look forward to renovated First Class check-in areas in Frankfurt and Munich and the redesigned First Class Lounge at Munich Airport.
Introducing “Future Onboard Experience”
It seems that Lufthansa is looking beyond the seat, with the airline revising all service components on long-haul flights in all classes: the entire culinary offering, tableware, pillows, blankets, amenity kits and the onboard service.
The introduction of the upgraded service is due to start in time for Lufthansa’s 100th birthday next year.
In Quotes
Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer at Lufthansa Airlines said:
“We are completely reinventing the Lufthansa First Class travel experience with Allegris and making it even more exclusive,”
“Our new First Class, with its unique suites, defines the concept of privacy like never before and is unrivaled worldwide. We are also investing in exclusivity and comfort on the ground by completely redesigning our First Class check-in areas and lounges in Munich and Frankfurt.”
Building on improvements
Lufthansa has been working away on improvements for all passengers, including the introduction AirTag luggage tracking, and the upcoming free messaging in the summer.
Meanwhile, on short-haul, Business Class passengers have been able to pre-order meals, with additional options being offered by the airline.
The airline has also been working on its lounge network, refreshing its Newark and London Heathrow Lounges, with the renovation of 30 further lounges in the pipeline.
Change comes slowly with airlines – with the Allegris rollout being a reminder of this. At least more Allegris products are on the way, with a path to the upgrade of the fleet becoming visible.
As for the “Future Onboard Experience”, I’m interested to see how far Lufthansa goes into this and work out what it needs to delight its customers, as part of the hard product. Whilst it is a strong-enough product, there is always room to innovate and improve the onboard experience across all classes.
