Emirates continues to expand capacity in Spain, with the airline planning to add a third daily flight to Barcelona.

The new timetable looks a little like this :

EK255 DEPART DXB 03:45 ARRIVE BCN 08:15 Boeing 777
EK185 DEPART DXB 08:15 ARRIVE BCN 12:50 Airbus A380
EK187 DEPART DXB 14:40 ARRIVE BCN 18:35 Boeing 777

EK256 DEPART BCN 15:10 ARRIVE DXB 00:35+1 Boeing 777
EK186 DEPART BCN 15:30 ARRIVE DXB 01:00+1 Airbus A380
EK188 DEPART BCN 20:25 ARRIVE DXB 05:55+1 Boeing 777

Commences 26th October 2025
Operates daily
Booked Equipment: Airbus A380, Boeing 777 - see flight pairs above

The added service will meet market demand and offer passengers greater connectivity to/from Barcelona and Catolina as well as access to popular destinations across Emirates’ network, including the Maldives, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Emirates currently serves Spain with 28 weekly flights utilising a fleet mix of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, including 14 weekly flights to Madrid and 14 weekly flights to Barcelona, including 7 weekly flights from Dubai to Mexico City via Barcelona.

The extra uplift to Barcelona will add seven flights a week between Dubai and Spain – a total of 35 flights a week.

Boosting connectivity

For those travelling between Spain and Dubai (and no doubt onwards, with its global network), Emirates should provide some useful connections going east, as well as additional capacity, with a 777’s worth of passengers (from 340 seats upward, depending on configuration).

And having options is a welcome thing for travellers, especially as it gives them the flexibility to pick and choose timings that work for them. It’s also a sign that Emirates has confidence in the Spanish market, as well as running its fifth-freedom service to Mexico City (with a stop in Barcelona).

Ticket bookings are currently open for a city with rather beautiful horizons.
