For those who love anime, you might not need to download your entire favourite series for when you fly, as Delta Air Lines has partnered with Crunchyroll to deliver Anime to the In-flight entertainment screen
Crunchyroll will offer what it describes as a “specially curated” selection on Delta flights later this year as in-flight entertainment on seatback screens. Although exact series haven’t been disclosed for what will be in the air, they will offer a teased 2,000 titles and 50,000 episodes.
Which is a lot of content to go through (depending on which content is rotated through).
Hopefully, content such as Demon Slayers, Dragon Ball, and so on will make it onboard (although your author would love to see Mobile Suit Gundam of some sort…. depending on which season and series – says the person going through Gundam Wing, Seed and re-watching 00 ).
This will mean that you can get your anime fix at 35,000ft over 169,000 seatback screens.
Content will also be available to over 900 aircraft for SkyMiles Members with Delta Sync Wi-Fi. If you connect using Delta Sync Wi-Fi on your personal devices, you will receive an exclusive 24-hour free trial to Crunchyroll mid-flight or upon landing at your destination.

Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll.
“There is nothing better on a long flight than immersing yourself in the rich storytelling and world-building of anime. Fans can go deep on one series or sample one episode of many series – from action to adventure, romance and more. And when they get hooked they can continue their experience on the Crunchyroll app,” sai
“We are excited to share what we love with Delta passengers and go to new heights together.”
“At Delta, we see every flight as an opportunity for discovery,”
“Whether you’re diving into the anime genre for the first time or continuing a favorite series, bringing Crunchyroll to Delta gives our customers access to a world of storytelling while onboard and beyond. It’s part of Delta’s commitment to delivering industry-leading entertainment that reflects the passions and interests of our customers.”
Watch me, Senpai!
Everyone has different tastes in entertainment in the air, be it drama, cartoons, comedy or so on. By adding Anime collections to their in-flight offerings, Delta is addressing those who enjoy the style and storylines of some great stories that are there to be told.
It’ll be interesting to see what content is loaded onto the IFE systems, and if Delta choose to go with full series, or just chunks of series (as is common with other IFE deals we’ve seen in the past – seeing a full season of content on an aircraft can be a very rare thing).
But for those who want Anime adventures in the air, Delta has you covered in the future.
